Close up of the face underpainting:
The style of this painting required numerious thin transparent layers of paint, a direct painting style would not lend to the
lumious effect that is in the original work.
Underpainting for the background and gold and silver areas is started. All the areas must be painted over several times in thin layers to
slowly build dept before any of the gold or siver is added (no real fun).
Background is laid in using more than15 layered washes, the gold is then added on the top.
